New Montvale PENTAX Facility Brings More Jobs to Bergen County

MONTVALE, NJ – Bergen County officials today welcomed PENTAX of America, Inc. to its new corporate headquarters in Montvale. After a ribbon-cutting ceremony held at 4:30 p.m., PENTAX officially relocated to 102 Chestnut Ridge Road in the Borough.

This past April PENTAX Medical Company and PENTAX Imaging Company merged to form PENTAX of America. County officials helped convince the executives of newly merged company to relocate from Orangeburg, New York.

“We’re excited about this new business opportunity,” said McNerney. “In Montvale, PENTAX can develop infrastructure to the company’s exact specifications, they will enjoy close proximity to New York City and the fact that Bergen County is clearly one of the most desirable places to work and live.”

The 50,000 square-foot facility is expected to bring approximately 150 new jobs to Bergen. The County of Bergen, in partnership with the Bergen County Economic Development Corporation (BCEDC), worked diligently to add PENTAX to Bergen’s thriving business community.

“Our decision to move was based on our need for more space,” said Ikuzo Okamoto, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of PENTAX of America, Inc. “Montvale offered us a great location which is central to New York and all of the airports, a beautiful building and a wonderful neighborhood for us to call home. We are thrilled to be here and look forward to many years in this area.”

PENTAX representatives Katsuo Mori, Senior Managing Director PENTAX Corporation, Fumio Urano, President & CEO PENTAX Corporation and Ikuzo Okamoto, Chairman & CEO, PENTAX of America, Inc. and Managing Director, PENTAX Corporation, join Bergen County Executive Dennis McNerney (third from left), Montvale Mayor George B. PENTAX Imaging is an innovative leader in the production of digital and film cameras, binoculars, spotting scopes, eyepieces, lenses, mobile printers, scanners and internet cameras.

“We continue to work closely with the County Executive in an effort to bring new business and jobs into the county,” said BCEDC Chairman Joseph M. Sanzari. “As a Bergen County business owner myself, I can attest to all of the benefits gained by companies operating in the county.”

BCEDC President Beth R. Gorin has made new employment opportunities one of her highest priorities.

“Bergen County and the BCEDC strive to attract as many new jobs as possible, while working to retain our existing job base. PENTAX of America, Inc. is another excellent example of how a world-class company can benefit by relocating to Bergen. We welcome PENTAX and are very excited about the continued growth of business in Bergen County.”
