In 1994, By Design L.L.C., headquartered in New York City, was formed. By Design L.L.C. was founded by Danny Passi, its Chairman, and Jay Lee, its President and Chief Executive Officer. Together, they developed the strategic direction for By Design L.L.C., expanded its product offerings, and successfully entered and grew its share of the competitive casual sportswear market. By 1997, By Design L.L.C. achieved sales of $100 million. In 2000, By Design L.L.C. significantly expanded its product offerings in the missy, petite and woman sizes segments of its business and became known as the company that combines classic American styling with fashion trends from Europe as well as unique details and fit for customers who desire high quality fashion and fashion-basic clothing at competitive prices. In 2002 and 2003, By Design L.L.C. made a significant investment in its sales, distribution, and back-office technology capabilities to better service its customer base. With this investment, By Design L.L.C. developed and deployed state-of-the-art hardware, design software, database tracking software, its own user-friendly website, and easy internet access, to make its customers’ time more productive and profitable as well as the Company’s personnel more effective and its information more actionable. In 2004, By Design International Ltd. became the parent holding company of By Design L.L.C. In 2005, demonstrating By Design’s commitment to expanding its presence in the pre-teen, teenage and missy markets, several major initiatives were completed. Additional executive and professional personnel with extensive experience and talent in these businesses were employed and major new brands such as Love By Design were introduced. In 2006, the Company further expanded with the introduction of its Tween line for today's young aspiring junior girl. It offers lifestyle clothes for school, play and party time.
