In contrast to the informal, sinuous pathway systems on the west side of the Mill River Park and Greenway, the East Esplanade follows the river along a more formal and defined alignment articulated by a low stone wall.
Walkways are lined by a repeating rhythm of trees, benches, and lighting and intersected by connecting paths to the adjacent streets.
