We have been somewhat frustrated over the last year with delays beyond our control that have slowed down the groundbreaking for the next phase of construction. We had hoped to break ground on the area between Main and Broad Streets in March or April. Now it looks like it will be September.

We recognize that the restoration of the river completed last year has raised your expectations for completion of the park. And like you, we want to get rid of the fences. We will be very happy, and we’re sure you will be too, when we can let people into the former Mill Pond site.

We believe that we have now cleared the major hurdles that have slowed the process down and are on track to bid the construction job in June and break ground in the third quarter. Thank you for your patience.
