You Can Help Protect Bees

Jeff Brown, the construction manager for Mill River Park, is an experienced bee keeper. He shared something we’d like to pass along to you.

Bees from a particular hive often collect pollen from the same area in bloom. When those areas have been treated with chemicals such as pesticides, the result can be the death of an entire hive. The best for bees and other pollinators is for you not to use chemicals on your property. The next best is, if you must use them, apply them after 5:00 pm when bees have returned to their hives.
