Board of Representatives Approves Contract with the Collaborative

Stamford’s Board of Representatives voted overwhelmingly to approve the City’s contract with Mill River Collaborative. Under the contract, the Collaborative will become responsible for development and maintenance of Mill River Park. The Collaborative and the City will both contribute funds necessary to build and maintain the park and the Collaborative will oversee its day to day operations, programming and maintenance. To date the Collaborative has raised over $1 million for development and maintenance of the park and anticipates launching a capital campaign to raise a significant part of the park’s total development cost. The Board of Representatives also approved an ordinance that will allow the Collaborative to create naming opportunities for park amenities ranging from a carousel to paving stones.
