American Friends of Jordan River Village (“AFJRV”) is a not-for-profit corporation founded in 2004 to provide financial and other assistance to Jordan River Village.
Jordan River Village is a camp being constructed in Israel for children with serious illnesses. The camp will be open, free of charge, to all children, ages 9-18. It will be located on 61 acres in a secluded area high above the Sea of Galilee in Northern Israel.

It will offer safe, medically sound traditional camping experiences that will include swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, adventure activities, music and art. |
The camp will have a fully equipped, state of the art medical facility that will be open 24 hours a day and will be staffed by trained doctors and nurses drawn from Israel’s leading hospitals.
Campers will be housed in 12 comfortable cabins with space for up to 8 campers and 4 counselors. A performing arts center, dining room, arts and crafts center, swimming pool, adventure park, indoor basketball court, mini-golf course and petting zoo will be designed to accommodate the particular needs of the children attending the camp.

The camp will accommodate up to 90 children in 5-10 day sessions and will also offer special programs for parents and siblings of the campers.
Jordan River Village is part of the Hole in the Wall Association, founded by Paul Newman for children with serious illnesses to have the benefits and fun of camping experience. There are now Hole in the Wall camps in five states and four countries and plans are being developed for numerous other camps in other states and countries throughout the world. In the years, Hole in the Wall camps have been in operation they have enriched the lives of more than 20,000 children, their parents and siblings and there are countless testimonials to the importance of the experience to the well being of those who have come there. Jordan River Village will add to that admirable record. |
