STAMFORD, CT, September 1, 2005 -- The American Friends of Jordan River Village will sponsor a Golf Tournament and Gala Evening to benefit a new camp being built in Israel for children from the middle east with serious illnesses. Jordan River Village is a member of the Association of the Hole in the Wall Camps founded by Paul Newman. All the camps are, open to all children, are free of charge and offer happy supportive camping experiences.
The event will be held on October 1, at the Rockrimmon Country Club in Stamford, Connecticut. Those attending will play golf, bid on exciting auction items and enjoy a festive gala to raise funds for Jordan River Village, a special camp in Israel that will provide very ill children the chance to just be kids.

Co-chairs of the event, Michael Finkelstein and Robert A. Breakstone, are pleased to announce that Marilyn and Murray Grant, founders of the Jordan River Village, will be honored at the gala. Bill Esposito and Chaim Topol are the event’s honorary chairs. Alan Kalter, the announcer of “The Late Show with David Letterman”, will be the Master of Ceremonies and auctioneer.
Highlights of the gala will be silent and live auctions featuring a Mets Package that includes 100 tickets to a game, throwing out the first ball, meeting players and having one’s name listed on the Diamondvision sign. Additional auction items include: a walk-on part in a movie produced by Lions’ Gate; a visit to an ABC soap opera set during a live broadcast; a radio station internship for up to 8 weeks; golf for four at the Trump National Golf Club, Westchester; US Tennis Open courtside seats; dinner for two at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida; tickets for the Broadway hit, “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels”; a collection of rare wines; world class dining experiences and many more exciting items.
As a member of the Hole in the Wall Camps, Jordan River Village joins an association that has enriched the lives of nearly 100,000 children with life threatening illnesses in five states and four countries.
