Transportation
While many New Jerseyans gripe about their daily commutes, residents,
employees and visitors to Bergen County are pleasantly surprised
at the availability of commuting options within the county. In
addition to a modern highway system - mass transit, including bus
and rail service, makes traveling in the county very convenient.
Construction projects, such as the new interchange at Routes 4
and 17, ease traffic congestion and help move the flow of business
within the county. Major roadways, including the New Jersey Turnpike,
the Garden State Parkway, Route 3, the Palisades Parkway and Interstate
287, grant easy access to all points in Bergen, and throughout
the tri-state area.

Bergen's residents and employees have long counted on the bus
and rail services located conveniently throughout the region, but
the county is always looking to make improvements to the existing
infrastructure. Bergen County government has worked closely with
state and local authorities to provide new and updated transportation
facilities. Whether it is the new landmark Secaucus Junction rail
station, the northern expansion of the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail
or any of the other major transportation projects planned, Bergen
continues to look to the future.
