The Bergen County Workforce Investment Board (WIB) provides oversight
and policy planning for Bergen County workforce needs, supporting
businesses and individuals in achieving employment and workforce
goals. Through the Bergen One-Stop Career Center system, the WIB
works to ensure the development and availability of a skilled,
educated workforce for Bergen County's business community.
The Workforce Investment Board offers a myriad of services for
Bergen County businesses. Employment Service Specialists assist
with the recruitment and placement of qualified candidates by obtaining
national exposure for Bergen County job openings on America's Job
Bank web site (www.wnjpin.state.nj.us). The WIB also conducts workshops
and seminars geared to improve production capabilities giving Bergen
County businesses a greater opportunity for success.
The Workforce Investment Board also provides Bergen County businesses
with opportunities to reduce their taxes and obtain access to government
grants. Information on a variety of state and federal tax credit
programs is available, and employers are encouraged to take advantage
of these incentives by hiring qualified employees who fit the established
criteria. The WIB continues to help businesses cut cost, as well
as provide new workers with valuable work experience.
