BAYONNE TOWN CENTER CROWNS “KING FOR A DAY”

BAYONNE, NJ – July 2, 2004 - Bayonne Town Center’s official Father’s Day “King for a Day,” Dave Smith, was crowned by Mayor Joseph V. Doria, Jr., at a ceremony on Saturday, June 26th, 2004, held at the Big Apple (414 Broadway). A Bayonne resident, Mr. Smith’s gift cooler (assembled by the artists at Candle Cottage) was filled with such treats as Yankee tickets, gift certificates redeemable for dinners at participating restaurants, jewelry, the latest fashions, as well as spa treatments, all graciously donated by the merchants of the Bayonne Town Center, as well as certificates that can be used throughout the Town Center from Pamrapo Savings Bank. Paster’s provided the official “crown” (a Bayonne baseball cap). In addition to Mayor Doria, Mr. Smith, and his wife and daughter, joining the festivities were Diane Brennan, Chairperson of the Bayonne Town Center; and BTC Board member Bermie Golomb of Aaron’s Gold.
