"QUEEN
FOR A DAY, THANKS TO A GOOD FRIEND."
Bayonne,
NJ - May 20, 2003 - Pictured is Bayonne Town Center's official
Mother's Day "Queen for a Day," Clementine Bogart,
crowned by Mayor Joseph V. Doria, Jr., on Saturday, May 17,
2003, at Community Crossing (488 Broadway).
Kathleen
Henderson, who drew the actual winning entry, bestowed her
"throne" and gift basket full of treats to her dear
friend and neighbor of almost thirty years, Clementine Bogart.
Recently, Ms. Bogart lost her husband, and Ms. Henderson thought
that being honored as "Queen for a Day" would help
her friend through her bereavement. A lifelong resident of
Bayonne, Ms. Bogart's treasure chest (assembled by Candle
Cottage) was filled with gift certificates for pampering at
local spas, jewelry, bed and bath products, and home décor
items, all graciously donated by the merchants of the Bayonne
Town Center. Rennar Boutique provided a regal cape for her
majesty, a floral crown was created by Sacalis Florist, and
the wicker throne was courtesy of You're Invitedere former
Mayor Dennis P. Collins, Bernie Golomb, Chairman of the Bayonne
Town Center, Lisa Catlin of Community Crossing, Diane Brennan
of Rennar Boutique, and Ms. Bogart's daughter-in-law, Mil
Bogart, and granddaughter, Marjorie.
