Bayonne
Town Center Names New Executive Director.
Bayonne,
NJ — August 27, 2003. The
Board of Trustees of the Bayonne Town Center Management
Corporation has unanimously voted N. David Milder, of DANTH,
Inc., to serve as its new executive director. Mr. Milder
assumes that post after serving four months as acting executive
director.
According
to Diane Brennan, chairperson of the Town Center, “David
has displayed to the board an impressive ability to manage
the organization, a desire to have Trustees and the membership
participate in the decision-making process, and a wealth
of knowledge and experience about downtown revitalization.”
Mr.
Milder, founder and president of DANTH, is a nationally
recognized authority on downtown revitalization and a leading
proponent of developing market niches. He has more than
29 years of experience utilizing market research and management
skills to help revitalize business centers. In addition
to his analytical work assessing the potential of downtowns
and recommending revitalization and recruitment programs,
he has designed and implemented downtown security programs,
and managed downtown special districts. He specializes in
the use of surveys to assess residential, employee and tourist
retail markets and analyzing geographic information systems
to assess retail market potentials.
Mr. Milder, received a Ph.D. from Cornell University, and
taught at Cornell and Ohio State University. He also served
as director of the Urban Institute at the University of
North Carolina at Charlotte, executive director of the Ohio
Cities Consortium and vice president for sales and marketing
at the Man-Data Corp. (Columbus, OH).
Mr. Milder has been widely quoted in the media, has written
for numerous publications, and authored more than 50 technical
reports and articles in Urban Land, Comparative Political
Studies and Comparative Public Administration. His best-selling
book "Niche Strategies for Downtown Revitalization"
was published by the Downtown Research & Development
Center in February 1997. A book on business recruitment
is scheduled for publication by the Downtown Research and
Development Center in June 2003. He is also one of four
rotating downtown experts who write the Perspectives column
in the Downtown Idea Exchange.
