Bayonne
Town Center Welcomes Block Captains
Bayonne,
NJ — September 19, 2003. The
Bayonne Town Center held a pizza party for new Block Captains
at the Big Apple Sports Palace and Restaurant on Tuesday,
September 16, 2003. The party was made possible by the gracious
hospitality of Big Apple proprietor, Vinnie Bottino, who
is also a board member of the Bayonne Town Center.
In addition to the Block Captains, Town Center Chairperson
Diane Brennan, Vice Chairperson Mary Divock, Executive Director
David Milder, Program Manager Deborah Yautz, and Administrative
Assistant Tara Rainey were also in attendance. “Block
Captains,” merchants and business-owners within the
Town Center, have been designated to represent their respective
block, from 17th to 30th Streets, and will be disseminating
Town Center news, such as upcoming events and promotions.
Mary
Divock, who spear-headed the program, welcomed the new Block
Captains, and thanked them for volunteering time out of
their busy schedules. She stated that “we need to
keep businesses growing and surviving. To do this, we have
to ensure that merchants have knowledge of what’s
going on in the Town Center.” Mary added that “the
Town Center will be distributing a monthly newsletter to
keep merchants updated of current events.”
