BAYONNE
KARATE FOR KIDS HOLDS GRAND OPENING
BAYONNE,
NJ – September 26, 2003 - Bayonne Karate for Kids, located
at 434 Broadway, hosted a standing-room only grand opening
on Saturday, September 20, 2003 complete with refreshments
and martial arts demonstrations for children of all ages.
Students, teachers, and martial arts buffs from around the
tri-state area descended on Bayonne as George Strydio, Director
of Bayonne Cancer Care, and an Isshinryu Karate Master with
over 40 years in the martial arts who teaches at St. Peter’s
College, presided over the ceremony and cut the official ribbon.
Mr. Patrick
Cunningham, owner, stated that “Bayonne Karate for Kids
is a family-oriented business with programs for children of
all ages and degrees of skill.” Mr. Edgar Guzman, Certified
Head Instructor, added that “martial arts are a wonderful
way to instill discipline in children, and to ensure physical
fitness.” More importantly, Mr. Guzman believes that
martial arts “teach a child life skills, as it builds
character, confidence, and a respect for their instructors
and peers.” Bayonne Karate for Kids is a member of The
American Taekwondo Association (ATA), the premier North American
organization dedicated to the martial arts discipline of taekwondo,
and is the founding organization of other international affiliates
that include the World Traditional Taekwondo Union (WTTU)
and the Songahm Taekwondo Federation (STF). Counting both
the U.S. and worldwide, ATA organizations oversee over 1,500
schools and clubs, with over 300,000 members.
