Stamford Land Conservation Trust Hosts Mill River Presentation
Arthur Selkowitz, Chairman of Mill River Collaborative will make a full presentation on Mill River Park and Greenway at the Stamford Land Conservation Trust Annual Meeting Tuesday, Nov 11th at 6pm. His presentation will trace the history of the river through its centuries as a working river to its degradation and pending restoration within the context of Mill River Park & Greenway. All are invited to attend.

Army Corps Awards Mill River Restoration Contract
The Army Corps has awarded the construction contract for the Mill River restoration to Green Seal Environmental (www.gseenv.com) whose bid was $5.7 million. The Corps has prior experience with the firm in tidal restoration work.
According to Army Corps staff, the Corps’ $4,060,000 in federal construction funds was obligated yesterday. The Corps anticipates the contractor beginning work in December.
All permits have been secured clearing the way for the $7 million construction and dam removal project to proceed.

Mill River Playground Fun Saturday Mornings run through August 16th Come to the playground every Saturday at 11:00 am for unique interactive entertainment for children that will get little bodies moving and little voices singing! We have a great line-up of entertainment and performances. from all cultures. Bring a blanket and a picnic. Parking is available in the Hampton Inn lower level garage.

Board of Representatives Approves Pedestrian Bridge at Main Street
In May, the Board of Representatives approved the reconstruction of the deteriorating bridge across the Mill River at Main Street as a pedestrian and bicycle-only bridge.

Mill River Playground gets New Plantings and Tot Lot Fence
Additional improvements have been made at the playground this spring. Thousands of new flowers and grasses have been planted, that after a year of establishment will transform the playground environment next spring.
