Mary
Divock
Chairperson
Klothes Kloset
Mary Divock and her late husband, Arthur Divock, opened
Klothes Kloset (530 Broadway) in 1973, and have been
in business in the Town Center for 29 years. Arthur
and Mary had a shared vision of a store that offered
Missy and petite clothing at reasonable prices, and
they scoured markets and factories in New York City,
New Jersey, Long Island, and Pennsylvania to find the
right styles at the right prices. Mary Divock continues
the tradition of offering high quality women’s
apparel that has kept her customers loyal for almost
three decades.
Ms. Divock previously had served as the organization’s
Vice-Chairperson and chaired the Promotions Committee.
She has helped create a number of new events, including
a revamped and highly successful Mothers Day promotion
that was initiated in 2002. She has been responsible
for organizing the annual Sidewalk Sale. Ms. Divock
also has spearheaded the organization’s efforts
to reduce the amount of litter in the Town Center.
Vincent
Bottino, Jr.
Big Apple Sports Palace and Restaurant
Vincent Bottino, Jr. was born and raised in Bayonne.
He and his wife, Antoinette, attended #7 and #12 grammar
schools, and Bayonne High School. The Big Apple is a
family business founded by Vincent Bottino, Sr., and
has been on Broadway in Bayonne for over 25 years. When
Vincent Bottino, Jr., and Antoinette took over the establishment,
they expanded the facility and added on a restaurant
and tiki bar. Currently, Mr. and Mrs. Bottino reside
in Bayonne with their three children: Stacy, Melissa,
and Vincent.

DeMarco

Carvel
Mr. Vito DeMarco, owner of Carvel Ice Cream (478 Broadway)
hails from Brooklyn, New York. It was when Mr. DeMarco
moved to Staten Island that he discovered Bayonne—and
noticed that the community was desperately in need of
an ice cream shop! Mr. DeMarco has now been in business
over 32 years.
Bernie
Golomb
Bernie Golomb was born March 7, 1945 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan,
in the former Soviet Union. He came to America in 1949
and lived in New York City until 1952, when he arrived
in sunny Bayonne, New Jersey. At eight years of age,
Mr. Golomb started working in his father’s local
dry goods store. From 1965-1967, he studied mathematics
at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel, and romance
languages at the Alliance Francaise in the Sorbonne,
Paris, France. Mr. Golomb ran a successful vending machine
business (five hundred machines in five counties) from
1970-1975. In 1977, Mr. Golomb turned the family’s
costume jewelry business into a fine jewelry store (Paris
Bergman Jewelers) with the help of his wife, Ann. By
1983, there were over a dozen stores, including locations
in New York City, Hoboken, Staten Island, Rhode Island
and San Francisco. Mr. Golomb’s wife, Ann, still
manages the family business, Aaron’s Gold, at
520 Broadway, in Bayonne. Currently, Mr. Golomb is in
the telecommunications business with offices in Toronto,
Montreal, Vancouver, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San
Diego, and New York City.
John
Halecky
Councilman
John Halecky was elected Council Member At-Large in
1990, and became Council President. He changed from
at-large to Second Ward Council Member in 1994. He was
re-elected in 1998 and 2002. He is a member of the Cable
TV Committee, the Blue Ribbon Award Committee for Bayonne
High School, and an alternate commissioner of the Bayonne
Municipal Utilities Authority. He is the council representative
for the Town Center Management Corporation, Special
Improvement District and the Municipal Alliance for
a Drug Free Bayonne.
Halecky has served four terms on the Board of School
Estimate. A former member and chairman of the Rent Control
Board, a former member of the Board of Trustees of the
Bayonne Economic Development Corporation, he was honorary
co-chairman of the city's 125th Anniversary Committee,
as well as the Mayor's Committee for Americans with
Disabilities Act. Councilman Halecky is president of
Hudacko's Pharmacy, past president of St. Joseph's Holy
Name Society, past vice commander of Monsignor Adzima
Post 621 C.W.V. and past vice president of Bayonne Uptown
Merchants Association. Married to the former Geraldine
Hudacko, a third grade teacher at Bailey School, the
couple has two children: Lauren Dellabella married to
Michael, and Peter Halecky is wed to Deirdre. They are
grandparents to Alexander, Hannah, Benjamin, and Emma.
Alice
K. Lotosky
Bayonne Community Bank
After twenty-one years as a scientist at Block Drug
Company, Ms. Lotosky changed careers to become the Community
Relations Director at Bayonne Community Bank, a part-time
opportunity that eventually bloomed into a full-time
position. She currently holds the position of Personal
Assistant to the president and vice president of the
bank. In addition to her duties at BCB, she is a very
active member of the community, serving as a commissioner
on the Bayonne Planning Board for 5 years, a trustee
and secretary for the Bayonne Community Museum, and
is a founding member of the Bayonne Historical Society.
Ms. Lotosky serves on the Bayonne Town Center’s
Christmas Lights Committee, Image Committee, and is
the creator of the “Bring Back Your Memories Walking
Tour”.
Vincent
Lombardo
Bayonne Medical Center
Mr. Lombardo has been Vice President of Development
at the Bayonne Medical Center and Executive Vice President
of the Bayonne Medical Center Foundation since 1999.
He spent the previous 16 years with UMDNJ. A lifelong
Bayonne resident, he is active in many local organizations,
including the Hudson County Chamber of Commerce and
the Simpson Baber Foundation for the Autistic.
Richard
Martin
Candle Cottage
Mr. Martin was an electrical contractor for 20 years
before opening his present business, The Candle Cottage.
His store has been in business on Broadway for eight
years. Mr. Martin currently serves as Chairman of the
Construction Board of Appeals for the City of Bayonne.
Judith
M. McAuliffe
Treasurer
Pamrapo Savings Bank
Judith M. McAuliffe was born in Roselle, New Jersey,
and re-located to Bayonne, where she attended Holy Family
Academy. She has been with Pamrapo Savings Bank for
sixteen years, and holds the position of Compliance
Officer, Assistant Secretary, and Executive Assistant
to the President and CEO of the bank, Bill Campbell.
Judith M. McAuliffe has four sons and eleven grandchildren,
and currently, she resides in Old Bridge, New Jersey.
Patricia
A. Murphy
Vice Chairperson
Gormley, LoRe & Murphy Insurance Agency
Patricia A. Murphy, a lifelong resident of Bayonne,
is co-owner of Gormley, LoRe & Murphy Insurance
Agency, a women-owned business. Gormley, LoRe &
Murphy Insurance Agency has dedicated themselves to
serving the City of Bayonne and the State of New Jersey
for over 25 years. Ms. Murphy is a member of Professional
Insurance Agents and is very active in community affairs.
She currently holds office on the Executive Board of
the Bayonne Chamber of Commerce, chaired the nominating
committee for the Greater Essex and Hudson County Girl
Scout Council, and sat on the Board of Directors for
two terms. Ms. Murphy is also a member of the Master
Planning Board for the City of Bayonne, and has actively
raised funds for such organizations as Bayonne Medical
Center and Kiwanis, and has conducted phone-a-thons
on behalf of Women Rising. Aside from her busy schedule,
Patricia is very interested in gourmet cooking, which
is greatly appreciated by her family and friends. Her
husband, Jack, is a retired Fire Lieutenant of the Bayonne
Fire Department, and they are very proud of their two
daughters, Melissa Murphy and Alison Bender.
